Rockingham Speedway, located in Richmond County, North Carolina has a rich history in American Motorsports. The track opened on Halloween, October 31, 1965 as North Carolina Motor Speedway. Over the years the venue has undergone several name changes and ownership transitions. In 1996 it was renamed North Carolina Speedway and has been known as Rockingham Speedway since October 2007. Throughout its history, Rockingham Speedway has hosted numerous significant racing events including the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Truck Series and the NASCAR Arca Menards Series. The track is also known for its nickname "The Rock" affectionately given by fans and participants. As of 2025, Rockingham Speedway continues to be a prominent venue in the motorsports community welcoming back NASCAR Xfinity, Truck and Arca Menard races Easter Weekend!

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (Aug. 20, 2025) – Following a sellout weekend in NASCAR’s celebrated return to Rockingham Speedway, the newly unveiled NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will return to the venerable Richmond County oval April 3-4, 2026.
